Undergraduate Research Opportunities

I'm always happy to supervise a 4th year honours project, either in biological physics or in soft-condensed matter or statistical physics. Knowing how to program a computer is an essential piece of scientific literacy. At Dal, take ENGM 2081, CSCI 1100, PHYC 2050, PHYC 3250, or PHYC 4250. C or Python are both good -- C is significantly faster, but Python allows easier visualization and re-use. Teach yourself now!

Summer is a wonderful time to do science. I work one-on-one with summer research students. I have a good record of publications with students. More are on the way! (It often takes two summers to get results substantial enough for publication.) NSERC USRA funding is a strong plus, so be sure to apply before the January deadline (see link here, but apply through Dal physics). Co-op placements are also a possibility.
